i-Size car seats are based on the child's height, not weight. ECE R129 or i-Size is the newer EU safety regulation for child car seats. It was introduced in 2013 to ensure easy and safe placement of child seats in any car model, as well as to provide better protection against side impacts. Another important emphasis is the longest possible ride for children in the opposite direction of traffic, which is considered safer. I-Size standard only receive car seats with the possibility of Isofix installation and allowing safe driving in the opposite direction of traffic at least up to 15 months of age or, at the request of the parent, up to 4 years.
