NUK pacifiers are designed to imitate the mother's nipple during breastfeeding in order to optimally fit the child's oral cavity. They satisfy the natural need for sucking and at the same time train the muscles of the lips, tongue and jaws, which subsequently plays an essential role in the child's eating and speaking. NUK AIR SYSTEM is a system that ensures the possibility of air being released from that part of the pacifier that is in the baby's mouth - this allows the pacifier to remain soft, minimizing the risk of dental malformations.
Before first use, boil for about 5 minutes, ensuring there is enough liquid in the pot to prevent damage. For hygiene reasons, clean with NUK Baby Bottle and Accessory Cleaner or a mild detergent before each subsequent use. We recommend the NUK Sterilizer for sterilization. After cleaning or disinfecting the pacifier, drain any remaining liquid from the pacifier and then let it dry. Cleaning in the dishwasher carries the risk of damaging the pacifier.
For your child's safety: Before each use, check the pacifier and pull it in all directions. Discard it at the first sign of wear or damage. Check the integrity of the pacifier, especially for teething children. Only use special pacifier holders tested according to EN 12586. Never hang other ribbons or cords on the pacifier, as your child could choke on them. Never expose the pacifier to direct sunlight, do not leave it near a heat source and do not soak it in disinfectant solutions for longer than indicated, as this may reduce the strength of the pacifier or damage the material. In rare cases, children manage to put the entire pacifier in their mouth. In such a case, stay calm! Thanks to the special design, the pacifier cannot be swallowed and the two openings allow sufficient breathing until you can remove the pacifier from the mouth in the most careful way. Do not immerse the pacifier in sweet substances or medicines and do not suck on the pacifier. This may cause tooth decay in your child. For reasons of hygiene and safety, change the pacifier every 1 to 2 months. The strength of the teat can be compromised without visible damage. For teats with a protective cap: keep the cap out of reach of children to prevent choking.
